  • MY PATH

A path shaped by different worlds...and lives!

My path to this work has never been a straight one.

I first studied cognitive psychology and began my professional life in psychological research and therapeutic support. Life then took me across countries, cultures, languages, and professional fields—asking me, more than once, to adapt, learn, and find my place again.

When I settled in Denmark, my path led me into education. For ten years, I worked closely with children and teenagers in the Danish school system.

What might have looked like a detour became an essential part of my journey.

It gave me an inside view of children’s and teenagers’ everyday lives: their friendships, worries, school difficulties, conflicts, and the misunderstandings that can develop between a child, their parents, and their school—even when everyone is genuinely trying to do their best.

What parenthood taught me

I am the mother of two children, now teenagers. One of them was born with significant medical needs, and from an early age our family life was shaped by appointments, treatment, rehabilitation, and the need to adapt to a reality we had not chosen.

I learned what it means to be the parent searching for answers: trying to understand complex information, make decisions, support a child over time, and work with different professionals—all in a language that was not my own.

I also discovered something more intimate: We can love our children deeply and want to be a safe, steady presence for them, while still feeling worried, exhausted, frustrated, or overwhelmed ourselves.

Knowing how we want to respond does not always mean that we can remain calm and available when things become difficult. Under stress, we react not only from our intentions, but also from our history, our automatic patterns, our level of exhaustion, and the state of our nervous system.

This understanding is now at the heart of my work.

One question has become central to my work:

Why do we sometimes react in ways that reflect neither our intentions nor our values?

A child explodes over what seems like a small thing. A teenager withdraws. A parent raises their voice after promising themselves they would stay calm. A family finds itself repeating the same conflict, even though no one wants things to continue this way.

Rather than looking at a child’s behaviour in isolation, I consider what may be happening within the child, within the parent, and in the relationship between them.

My role is not to identify what is “wrong” with a child—or to teach parents how to become better parents. It is to help families understand what is happening, create more choice in difficult moments, and gradually build relationships that feel safer and more connected.

How I work

I mainly support parents who feel overwhelmed by repeated crises, conflict, or a growing distance from their child or teenager.

I do not believe in universal formulas for families. Many parents have already read, reflected, and tried a great deal. What is missing is not always more advice, but the ability to access what they know when emotions are high and familiar patterns take over.

Our work creates space to slow down, understand those patterns, and find practical changes that fit your child, your family, and your circumstances.

My approach is integrative and trauma-informed. I aim to combine depth with clarity, empathy with honesty, and reflection with practical tools.

For emotional subjects, language matters.

We use the language that allows you to express yourself most naturally and accurately.

Cross-cultural

My personal and professional life has been shaped by different countries, cultures and identities.

I understand how culture influences communication, relationships, parenting, work and our sense of belonging.

Integrative

I combine cognitive, relational, somatic and trauma-informed perspectives without following one fixed formula.

Some sessions are reflective and conversation-based. Others include practical tools, attention to the body or work with emotional and protective reactions.

  • WHAT WORKING WITH ME IS LIKE

A confidential space where you can speak freely

You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis, a clear explanation or a perfectly defined goal.

We begin with what feels most important now.

Together, we look at your thoughts, emotions, physical reactions, relationships and wider life context.

We identify what is within your influence and develop ways forward that feel realistic and true to you.

The aim is not simply to understand your patterns intellectually. It is to help change become something you can experience and carry into everyday life.

Our work is collaborative, respectful and paced according to what feels manageable.

  • CLIENT EXPERIENCES

A FEW WORDS FROM PEOPLE I HAVE SUPPORTED — IN THEIR ORIGINAL LANGUAGE

“Dalia has helped me understand the special rules about working in Denmark. I was feeling bad and wanted to leave but now I'm happy where I am"

- Roland
