ONLINE THERAPY · TWO PATHWAYS

Two ways to begin.
One shared foundation.

People come to therapy through different doors.

You may feel constantly on alert. The difficulty may be showing up most clearly in parenting, or within the strain and uncertainty of international life.

At Kislor, these starting points lead into the same therapeutic work: making sense of the responses that have helped you cope, developing greater inner safety, and creating more room to feel, think and choose.

That work is offered in two formats.

Respond Differently offers four sessions centred on how you respond when something familiar takes over.

Reclaim Yourself offers eight sessions centred on developing a steadier relationship with yourself.

The number of sessions does not rank the seriousness or complexity of what you are living. It reflects what you want the work to support and where you would like to begin.

We can decide that together.

04

Four sessions give us a defined place to begin: the point where something happens and a familiar response quickly follows.

That response may be overthinking, controlling, withdrawing, snapping, giving in or rushing to fix.

Across the four sessions, we choose one recognisable moment and look closely at what leads up to it: the first signs in your thoughts, feelings or body, the impulse that follows, and what the response may be trying to achieve or prevent.

We then explore small, realistic alternatives and review what actually changes when you try them.

THIS MAY BE A USEFUL STARTING POINT IF:

• You want the work to centre on how you respond in a recognisable situation or moment.

• You want a clear focus, even if other parts of your life feel complicated.

• Four sessions feels like a realistic and useful commitment for you now.

WHAT WE WORK TOWARDS

More room between the first impulse and the action you take next.

RESPOND DIFFERENTLY

4 x 60-minute sessions

When you want more choice in a familiar moment.

08

RECLAIM YOURSELF

8 × 60-minute sessions

When you want a steadier relationship with yourself.

Eight sessions give us more continuity to explore moments when pressure, worry or self-doubt make it harder to recognise what you need, where your limits are, or what you genuinely want to say or do.

Across the sessions, we can return to these moments, notice when you begin to doubt or override what matters to you, and explore how familiar ways of coping shape your choices.

That continuity gives us time to see what changes, revisit what remains difficult and strengthen responses that feel more true to you.

THIS MAY BE A USEFUL STARTING POINT IF:

• Your main wish is to change how you relate to yourself within what you are experiencing.

• Even if the difficulty appears concentrated in one area, the change you want concerns your sense of yourself within it.

• Eight sessions feels like the right amount of continuity for the work you want to begin.

WHAT WE WORK TOWARDS

A clearer sense of what you need, where you stand and how you want to move forward when familiar pressure returns.

Both pathways include…

01

Your whole experience matters

We pay attention to your whole experience: thoughts, feelings, bodily signals and the protective responses that appear when something feels difficult.

02

Curiosity about protective responses

Responses such as worrying, controlling, withdrawing or trying to fix everything usually have a logic. We meet that logic with curiosity and respect, while looking for more choice and responses that fit who you are now.

03

A focus we agree and review together

We agree on a focus together, work at a pace that feels manageable and check regularly whether the work remains useful.

Different ways of making sense

There is room for different ways of noticing and making sense of your experience.

PLACES YOU MAY BE STARTING FROM

Different doors into the same work.

Parenting and international life are two contexts in which the difficulty may become especially visible.

Each can be brought into either Respond Differently or Reclaim Yourself.

PARENTING

Parenting can bring strong emotions and automatic responses close to the surface.

Therapy can offer space to explore what happens in you and between you and your child, with attention to presence, choice, boundaries and repair.

INTERNATIONAL LIFE

Living across languages, cultures or countries can affect belonging, identity, confidence and relationships.

Therapy gives us space to explore what this context is stirring, what has become harder to trust, and what helps you make choices that feel more grounded and more your own.

A STEADY SPACE, AT YOUR PACE

The relationship matters.

A steady, non-judgmental relationship gives us room to notice what happens without forcing the pace.

You can speak, pause, question, change direction or say when something does not fit.

Being met with care can support a different way of relating to yourself, during sessions and beyond them.

A safe enough relationship can become a place to practise staying with yourself.

THE FIRST STEP IS A CONVERSATION

You don’t need to choose yet.

Bring what is happening.

Choosing a pathway can wait.

In the free introductory conversation, we can talk about what you would like help with and what kind of beginning might feel most useful.

From there, we can consider Respond Differently or Reclaim Yourself together.
