“I know what kind of parent I want to be. But in the difficult moments, I react before I can choose.”

  • IS THIS PROGRAMME FOR YOU?

You know how you want to respond. And then the emotion rises, and something else takes over.

You shout, become controlling, give in, withdraw or rush to fix — even though you intended to respond differently.

The same struggles return around routines, screens, boundaries or distance.

Afterwards, you feel guilty — and the pressure to do better makes the next difficult moment even harder.

You have read the advice and tried the techniques, but when emotions run high, you cannot seem to access them.

  • AN HONEST PROMISE

This programme will not make you permanently calm, or stop your child from pushing back.

The change is not about never reacting. It is about noticing sooner, choosing more often, and knowing how to repair.
  • THE PATTERN WE WORK WITH

Not another parenting method

Advice is difficult to use when your protective reactions move faster than conscious choice.

Together, we slow the pattern down:

Situation  →  What it activates  →  Protective reaction  →  Your child’s response  →  New choice or repair

Instead of treating your reaction as proof that you are a bad parent, we approach it as a pattern that can be understood and changed.

  • THE PROGRAMME

Four phases, Eight sessions, Twelve weeks

The work moves from understanding what happens to responding differently and carrying those changes into everyday family life.

PHASE  1

UNDERSTAND YOUR LOOP

Your reaction becomes something you can observe rather than something that defines you.

Session 1 · Define what needs to change

We explore your family context, choose one or two situations to focus on.

Session 2 · Draw your activation map

We map your child’s behaviour, what it activates in you, your early physical signals, your protective reaction and what happens next.

You leave with: your own personalised activation map.

“I’m starting to see what happens in me.”

PHASE  2

BE IN THE PRESENT

You learn to notice activation earlier and separate what is happening now from the older fears or expectations it may awaken.

Session 3 · Recognise stress before it takes over

We identify your early warning signs and develop a realistic pause for emotionally charged moments.

Session 4 · Understand the parts that react

We explore the parts that control, shout, withdraw, give in or rush to fix — and what they are trying to protect.

You leave with: A personal plan for the moments when you feel triggered.

“I can notice something firing without acting on it straight away.”

PHASE  3

SEE YOUR CHILD AND RESPOND DIFFERENTLY

You look beneath the behaviour while learning to remain clear, present and appropriately in charge.

Session 5 · See the child behind the behaviour

We separate behaviour, emotion and need, adapting expectations to your child’s age and situation.

Session 6 · Set limits without losing connection

We practise holding a limit without attacking, validating emotion without accepting every behaviour and stopping an exchange before it escalates.

With younger children,

the focus may include routines, transitions and big emotions.

With teenagers,

it may include autonomy, screens, school, boundaries or withdrawal.

You leave with: Age-appropriate responses for the situations that matter most in your family.

“I can be clear without losing the relationship.”

PHASE  4

CHOOSE, REPAIR AND SUSTAIN

You practise new responses, repair after difficult moments and prepare for the patterns that may return.

Session 7 · Repair after conflict

We explore how to reconnect after shouting, withdrawing or losing contact — without blaming your child or collapsing into shame.

Session 8 · Build your way forward

We review what has changed, identify early signs that old patterns are returning and create a plan for what comes next.

You leave with: a personal consolidation plan.

“I can stay myself, stay a parent and stay in the relationship.”

  • SUPPORT BETWEEN SESSIONS

Practical resources shaped around your family

You receive concise resources based on your situation rather than a generic library of parenting advice.

These may include:

A preparation questionnaire

Your personalised activation map

An age-adapted guide for limits and communication

A page for moments when

you feel triggered

Short practices to try in everyday situations.

A repair guide and personal consolidation plan

Therapeutic work, held with care.

This is not about blaming your past, searching for memories or judging your parenting.

We explore only what helps you understand the reactions affecting your relationship now, at a pace that feels manageable.

The programme is designed primarily for one parent. A co-parent may join when this would genuinely support the work.

  • IS THIS THE RIGHT FORMAT FOR YOU?

Different situations need different kinds of support.

The Programme may suit you if:

  • The same parent–child patterns keep returning.

  • You want a structured process with a clear beginning and end.

  • You are ready to observe and practise between sessions.

  • You want to focus on how your reactions affect the relationship.

Individual therapy may suit you better if:

  • Your main concern is anxiety, stress, trauma or something beyond parenting.

  • You would prefer a flexible or open-ended pace.

  • You want to begin one session at a time.

  • You are not ready to commit to a structured programme.

Parenting in Denmark

Unwritten expectations at school, work and in social life can add pressure to family relationships.

This is not a separate part of the programme.

Questions of language, belonging, support networks and Danish parenting norms

can be included in the work.

When your teenager needs their own space

Sometimes the most helpful next step is individual support for your teenager

rather than a parent-focused programme.

Not sure where to begin?

The right starting point may be the programme, one focused session, individual therapy or support for your teenager.

We can work that out together in a free 30-minute conversation.
